Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching. A person holds a light-to-moderate contraction for 3-6s (opposite the direction of the stretch), followed by the direction of the stretch for 10-30s. The procedure is repeated 4-5 times with increasing range in the direction of the stretch, and may usually require assistance.
